Social Justice Challenges of “Teaching” Languages

Abstract This essay explores the challenges to linguistic justice resulting from widely held negative perspectives on English of young Latinx bi/multilinguals and common misunderstandings individuals who use resources two communicative systems in their everyday lives. I highlight effects these Long-Term Learners as they engage with formal teaching English. specifically problematize language instruction it takes place classrooms impact curricularization is experienced by minoritized students “study” qua instructed settings.
